Bio: Kate was making sacrifices long before she ever met Daniel Cole, and that mostly had to do with the way that she was raised. Born and raised in New York, Kate was the daughter of a wealthy lawyer who made a living winning cases for the law firms he was working for. Life was nearly a breeze with Kate not having to worry about munch in her life, almost having things given to her a little too easily. The life of luxury wasn't exactly what Kate had in mind and she really didn't want to be a lawyer, which her father was already pressuring her to do come the age of eighteen. She was pressured to go into criminal justice and attend Harvard Law, but wanted to pursue her dream and go to an art school in San Fransisco. Kate, of course, sacrificed her own dream in order to please her father and attended school in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

It wasn't all at lost seeing how it was in Cambridge that Kate met Daniel Cole. Getting attached to him was quite easy as Daniel was the exact opposite of all the men her father wanted her to date. To say she fell in love was an understatement as she easily vowed to have a life with him after graduation. Daniel Cole, despite having a father who also worked for a law firm, didn't impress Kate's father when the two announced their marriage. The decision to go through with marrying Daniel strained the relationship with her father, which Kate was willing to give up in order to have a life with the man she loved.

It wasn't long after that Kate was starting to see changes in Daniel's priorities. It was little things at first that started to unfold into bigger things, not having any kind of significant impact on their relationship until it got to the point where things started to get awfully persistent. Kate never judged Daniel until she got the impression that he was lying about his whereabouts and the late hours that he came home also began to take its toll on her faith in him. The wedge between their relationship was set in place with distance already becoming a factor of choice for Kate if things didn't start looking up.
